The Friends Of Lewes Victoria Hospital

Founded in 1966, the Friends is a registered, volunteer led, Charity (247336) that supports the Lewes Victoria Hospital. It aims to help our local community by donating equipment and contributing to projects that enhance the services and facilities at the hospital. Thousands of patients benefit every year.

We rely on the support of local residents and businesses as well as donations and legacies from grateful patients to fund these improvements. So far together, we have raised £6 million and in the last 5 years the Friends have been able to donate over £800,000 to improve equipment and facilities at the hospital.

Please DONATE NOW to continue the excellent work of your local hospital.

How We Spend Donations

Urgent Treatment Centre - Lewes Victoria Hospital

The Friends contributed £331,000 towards the cost of developing an Urgent Treatment Centre at Lewes Victoria Hospital, which opened on Wednesday 29th April 2020. The UTC is an upgrade on the much-loved Minor Injuries Unit, and it will provide a very valuable addition to healthcare provision in our community for years to come.
The role of the UTC is to provide assessment and treatment to patients with minor illnesses and injuries that are urgent but not life threatening. It is a walk-in service, but if you contact NHS 111, they will give you an appointment to be seen by either a doctor or an urgent care practitioner.

New Conservatory For The Intermediate Care Unit 2022

Largely funded by the Friends, the new conservatory is providing a welcome quiet place for patients to relax and spend time with family and friends while they recuperate. It also provides staff with a much needed space to hold important multidisciplinary meetings.
